Specialist mechanical and electrical engineering consultancy, Desco, is celebrating the second anniversary of the expansion of its offer into London and the South East.
The company, which was established in Sunderland in 1998, has experienced a steady period of growth over the years, with offices in the north of England, the Middle East and Philippines. It added further strength and depth to the company after the acquisition of the former HBS Consulting Engineers practice in June 2011 and is making a real impact on the South East and London market.
With a client base which counts Virgin Atlantic, Chanel and Rolls Royce, amongst many other high profile brands UK wide and internationally within its portfolio, a seamless transition to merge HBS into the Desco brand has seen the company go from strength to strength. Desco’s portfolio now covers an ever-expanding variety of sectors, from education to aviation. The company offers a full range of design and consultancy services from surveys and feasibility studies to detailed design projects of all sizes which deliver sustainable, affordable, well-designed results.
As well as opening in London, Desco has celebrated a series of exciting new contract wins, including work to deliver MEP design services for Bannatyne HQ, Chanel HQ and Aspire sports complex in Qatar.
Ken Beall, Director at Desco, said: “This is an exciting time for Desco, the past two years have given us much cause for celebration.”
“We have made significant investment into London in terms of resources and people which, supported from our network of offices, is enabling us to offer clients access to a wide range of expertise covering a variety of sectors.”
In line with the development of new technologies and techniques, Desco has strengthened its expertise in key growth areas, including delivery of exemplar sustainable buildings, BIM 3D modelling, BREEAM (the world’s leading design and assessment method for sustainable buildings) and specialised water design. Recognised as one of the UK’s leading MEP consultancies, it is the expertise of the Desco team of specialists that have helped secure contracts on some of the country’s most innovative projects. These include the development of one of the greenest wineries, the Rathfinny Estate and the new London HQ of iconic high fashion brand, Chanel.
Managing Director, Paul Marshall, said: “When we strengthened Desco’s offer with the acquisition of HBS two years ago, we wanted to establish ourselves in London and the South East and offer clients a full UK and international consultancy service.
“Bringing together expertise under the Desco brand has really helped to add value to our clients. The calibre of people we employ here at Desco, the design tools, effective support systems, specialist knowledge and hands on approach from the senior team, has enabled us to expand our client base extensively over the years and work across projects of all sizes from the initial concept stage through to completion.”
Desco will be hosting a summer networking event on Thursday 13 June (6-8pm), at Vinopolis, Bank End, London, in celebration of the two year anniversary of its expansion. If you are interested in attending or would like to find out more about Desco, please get in touch on the below details.
