With weather forecasters predicting a long, cold winter and another round of inflation-busting price hikes by energy companies, it seems hard-pressed UK households will be facing another testing few months.

One guaranteed and highly cost effective way of keeping your home warm over the winter, as well as reducing bills, is by insulating windows using secondary or third glazing, around 10 to 15% of the cost of installing double glazing.

Around 20% of energy escapes through single glazing in an average home but the easy installation of Ecoease secondary or third PET (Polyester) glazing panels using magnetic tape attached to the inside frame can significantly reduce that heat loss and delivers an environmental performance as good as, and often better than, double glazing.

In addition, secondary glazing will virtually eliminate condensation and reduce noise pollution. Easily installed in minutes and available in a M2F (measured to fit) variation, Ecoease PET glazing panels are made from the same plastic used for airline windows and drinks bottles and deliver far better fire retardation properties than other options such as acrylic.

When Michael Curle was looking to increase the warmth of his stone built house in rural Northumberland he found a clear solution in Ecoease.

“Since installing the panels in all of my upstairs windows,” explained Michael “I’ve seen condensation all but disappear and there’s a much more consistent and comfortable temperature.”

“It is noticeably warmer now without having to turn up the heat and makes so much more economic sense than installing double glazing!” added Michael, one of thousands of customers across the UK to discover the benefits of secondary and third glazing.
