Earlier this month Ed Davey, Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change confirmed that the UK had met its first carbon budget, the first step in fulfilling our commitment to cut Britain’s emissions by 80% in 2050.

It is widely reported that buildings account for approximately half of the UK’s carbon dioxide emissions. BRE are actively working to improve this, find out what we are up to by visiting stand N1530/31 at Ecobuild.

Renewable Energy

National Solar Centre

Recently relocated to the Eden Project BRE’s National Solar Centre drives innovation, cost reduction and increased confidence in the photovoltaic (PV) marketplace through knowledge generation. Hear from our experts during the conference as they present an Overview of PV Technologies and the Business Case for PV at Different Scales.

Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS)

The Microgeneration Certification Scheme has been operating since 2007 providing consumers with the confidence that products and installers meet and continue to meet robust standards in this ever changing environment.

Find out what is required and the benefits of certification by arranging a meeting with one of our experts at EcoBuild.

Responsible Sourcing of Construction Products

Responsible Sourcing of Construction Products provides a holistic approach to managing a product from the point at which component materials are mined or harvested, through manufacture and processing.

BRE Global’s ground-breaking Standard, BES 6001 Framework Standard for the Responsible Sourcing of Construction Products, has helped organisations managed and reduce the impacts throughout the supply chain. Since its launch in 2008, more than 70 companies have secured over 100 certificates for a wide range of construction products.

Over the past year BRE has worked through an extensive consultation programme with stakeholders to develop a revision of the Standard that will better reflect responsible sourcing issues as the area matures.

Join us at 13.30, Thursday 6th March on stand N1530/31 to learn more and meet the team.
