The first One Planet Living apartments at One Brighton, part of the New England Quarter, Brighton, go on sale today, 9 November. Said to be one of the UK’s most environmentally advanced residential developments to date, joint developers Crest Nicholson (South East) and BioRegional Quintain are releasing a limited number of the 172 studio, one-and two-bedroom eco apartments to be built on to the market.
Pippa Bugby, sales and marketing director, Crest Nicholson (South East), said: “Only a selection of apartments will be available to purchase today, with the remainder going on sale early next year. Judging by the amount of interest One Brighton has already received, we anticipate the properties to sell quickly.”
One Brighton has been designed in accordance with the 10 One Planet Living principles in order to provide a comprehensive and lifestyle orientated approach to sustainability. Electricity will be supplied from guaranteed renewable sources, supplemented by eight roof-mounted wind turbines, whilst hot water and heating will be provided from a biomass boiler that uses renewable fuel.
Residents at One Brighton will be able to make use of several unique features of the development for an enhanced lifestyle, including growing their own food on roof top allotments, enjoying sky and roof gardens or relaxing in Brighton’s newest square. Negating the need for a car, One Brighton is linked to local cycle routes leading into the city and also to Brighton train station. For travelling further afield, the on-site Car Club means that residents can hire a car as and when they require one.
Prices are from £145,000 for a studio apartment. The launch event takes place at Old Court House, Church Street, Brighton, between 11am-7pm on the 9 and 10 November 2007. For more information and to register for the launch, contact Crest Nicholson on 0870 752 1820 or visit the Crest Nicholson website or the Bioregional Quintain website.
